LR: Draft law „„Amendments to the law on the Register of Enterprises of the Republic of Latvia”

The regulations of the Commercial Law, that are in force, do not stipulate that a company should be parted from the names registered in registers managed by the Register of Enterprises, for example, the names of corporations, so the enterprise in the narrower sense may now be matched with the subjects’ names, thereby deceiving the third person in respect of the subject’s identity.

Considering the above mentioned, a Draft law „Amendments to the law on the Register of Enterprises of the Republic of Latvia” has been developped, which stipulates that the enterprise must differ from not only the enterprises registered in the commercial register or the enterprises that are applying for entry in the commercial register, but from the names of subjects registered or applied for entry in other registers managed by the Register of Enterprises.

The draft law has been adopted in the second reading in the Parliament of Latvia.
