Latvia is a leader of unemployment in the EU

The major unemployment growth among the members of the European Union has been noted in Latvia: from 13,5% in the first quarter of 2009 up to 20, 1% in the first quarter of 2010, Eurostast – European Statistics Agency reported in September. Averagely the unemployment rate in the EU countries  has not changed. However as for the annual statistics In July 2010 the unemployment rate grew 0,4 from 9,6% to 10%. In 27 countries of the EU its July rate constituted 9,6% , rising 0.5 times. The lowest rate was noted in Austria (3,8%) , the highest record belongs to Spain (20,3%).
